Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma course

The Gaia School of Natural Health is fully accredited and verified by the Reiki Council (Course registration number P21-0006), UK Reiki Federation (Verification Number: 2014-1025P), and confirmed by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) to offer the Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma (previously known as the Reiki Practitioner Course) which meets the Reiki Core Curriculum and National Occupational Standards. We have been accredited and teaching reiki since 2014.

What qualifications will I receive?

  • Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma
  • Reiki 1 Certificate
  • Reiki 2 Certificate

N.B. Anyone who attends Reiki 1 but decides not to continue with the other modules and complete the full diploma will receive a Reiki 1 certificate of attendance demonstrating that they have completed Reiki 1 training for personal/family/friends use only.

Those wishing to work within professional environments such as hospices or the NHS, are increasingly being required to have trained to this recognised level. You can be reassured that this is recognised and accredited reiki training enabling you to join the largest and most recognised reiki professional associations, the CNHC voluntary register of complementary therapists and gain insurance to practice as a reiki practitioner.

Please note that we are currently the only school/Reiki Master Teachers on the Wirral, in Liverpool, and throughout W.Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales accredited to offer this level of reiki training.

As required by the National Occupational Standards, the course will take you at least 9 months to complete, and consists of:

  • 65 contact hours with your Reiki Master,
    and the completion of:
  • 75 reiki treatments on others,
  • 100 treatments on yourself and
  • 5 practical observations.

Our training is flexible and modular. You can undertake it at your own pace, booking on each module as suits. We have a choice of 3 different venues: Thornton Hough (Wirral), Sefton (Liverpool) and Abergele (N.Wales), and you can attend any of these locations, and take different modules at different locations if the dates are more convenient for you. Your reiki journey will start with Reiki 1 and end with an assessment day, and the other modules can be attended in whatever order and timescale suits you. Please note that you have a maximum of 36 months from the date of your Reiki 1 in order to complete all your modules and assessments.

Please note: reiki modules in Wirral are taught by Carolyn Roberts, Reiki Master Teacher and Principal of the Gaia School of Natural Health. Reiki modules in Liverpool are taught by Reiki Master Teacher Jane Paget Butler of Santangelis Holistics, and reiki modules in North Wales are taught by Reiki Master Teacher Sarah Maitland-Price of The Willows Therapies.

Your total Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma course consists of the following modules:

  • Module A. Reiki 1 15 hours
  • Module B. Reiki 2 22.5 hours
  • Module C. Reiki Practitioners Skills workshop 6 hours
  • Module D. Working with the chakras 7.5 hours
  • Module E. Self development day 7.5 hours
  • Module F. Assessment day 7.5 hours

Module A (Reiki 1) must be your first module, and Module F (Assessment day) your last, but modules B – E can be attended in whatever order suits you.

Please check out the calendar of events for reiki course dates, alternatively visit the specific reiki module page for dates and availability.

Once you are qualified as a reiki practitioner you can undertake further advanced training.

Reiki Testimonials

”The three days of Reiki 1 training were very enjoyable as Carolyn took us through the basic precepts of Reiki, the philosophy and practice, and then prepared us for the attunements. Everything was explained clearly, there was plenty of time to discuss and ask questions, and lots of time for meditating before the attunements and practising Reiki after them. Being in a small group meant the days were very personal and relaxed and I look forward very much to completing the Reiki 2 days soon.

After the training days Carolyn has been available to give help and guidance with case studies and Reiki practice and could not be more supportive. The attunements I have received have enabled me to give Reiki to others with some wonderful results as well as working on myself. Doing Reiki has changed my life so much for the better and I thoroughly recommend this discipline to everybody. In particular, any energy therapist will find that their treatments gain such a lot from this course.“

Lisa Hardi, holistic therapist

”Carolyn delivered a fantastic Reiki training day to staff working at Claire House hospice, who had previously trained up to Reiki Master level. She had given a great deal of thought into tailoring the study day for the slightly differing practitioner levels of the group, and had skilfully put together an interesting and fun programme, covering topics particularly relevant to this specialist healthcare setting. This allowed therapists to learn some new skills including work on chakras and crystals, which will enable them to further enhance their therapies. There was a perfect balance of theoretical and practical work, which also allowed for lively and informative discussion, alongside helpful practise in a safe environment.“

Jan Scott, Complementary Therapy Co-Ordinator, Claire House children's hospice

”This has opened up a new understanding of energy, connection and the human body for me. Carolyn is an excellent teacher, I highly recommend this course if you feel called.“

Ali Bell

”This was an excellent course. Informative, sensitively delivered, good support for students, and great group atmosphere. Am so pleased I have been part of this and look forward to practicing Reiki on myself.“

Gwen Williams

”An enjoyable course meets the needs of those wishing to progress further & for those who wish to use the learnings personally.“
