VTCT Level 3 Certificate inNotes:
You will study 70 essential oils within this course. The standard syllabus for a Level 3 qualification is 42 essential oils. Essential oil practitioners are only insured to use oils they have been trained in using. Therefore the inclusion of a further 28 oils in this course will extend the range that you will be able to use with your clients.
As well as studying all the basics of aromatherapy, the course includes various advanced aromatherapy topics ranging from using oils in palliative and cancer care, and women’s health, to working with those with neurological conditions (including autism, ADHD and sensory processing disorders), to working with subtle energy techniques. The main focus is product making, engaging in creating blends for bath oils, creams, sprays, waxes, balms and aroma sticks etc.
Whilst we cover the making of products from the raw materials, including good manufacturing practice and correct labelling requirements etc., the emphasis of the course is on becoming an Essential Oils Practitioner - a therapist who utilises the energy and properties of essential oils to bring positive benefits to the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual lives of our clients. This course is for those who don’t wish to practice full body massage, but instead to focus on the myriad of other ways that essential oils can be utilised to positive effect by our clients.
Upon completion you will be qualified, and able to gain insurance, to make products for your own clients. Making products to sell to the general public is regulated by European Cosmetic directives which require that each product is safety tested and certificated before being available to sell to the general public. We will give information on how to go about this but you should be aware that this procedure can be costly. Please do get in touch if you want to discuss this before signing up to the course.
